News: Franchise Associations
Did You Know?
There's Power In
Numbers Sometimes
it's what you know and who you know that
can give your franchising endeavor the
greatest chance for success. While many
larger, and some smaller, franchisors
have their own "in-house" networks
of "information gatherers",
investigating the services and resources
offered by a larger organization could
be worth your while. Here are a few of
the major trade association players in
the franchising industry.
American
Association of Franchisees & Dealers
 |
This
association offers members an array
of services designed to help franchisees
build market power, create legislative
support of interest to franchisees,
provide legal and financial support
and offer a wide range of general
benefits to its membership. AAFD
maintains established (the term applied
to start-ups) trademark chapters in
more than 70 franchise companies.
These boast more than 50 AAFD members. |

interests of individual franchisees. The

involved in disputes with franchisors.The
organization also works to make lawmakers
aware of the how insufficient the rules
and regulations are that currently govern
the franchisor/franchisee relationship.
Canadian

| |

a membership culled from franchisees,
associated with more than 350 franchise
companies throughout Canada, the Canadian
Franchise Association supports
and promotes |
all
professionals who participate in the franchise
business model. The CFA promotes
a strong code of ethics on behalf of the
franchise company and, through its CFA
disclosure document guide, ensures that
all potential franchisees receive the information
needed to make solid business decisions.
