What is Kinderdance®?

Kinderdance® is the original nationwide developmental dance, gymnastics and movement program combined with academic readiness skills specifically designed for children ages 2 to 8. What makes the Kinderdance® program unique is that it incorporates educational concepts in a developmentally designed curriculum that teaches the total child. Special emphasis is placed on building self-confidence and self-esteem in young children.

Kinderdance® offers four program. Kinderdance® and Kindergym® for ages 3 to 5, Kindertots® for age 2 and KindercomboTM for ages 6 to 8. Preschool age children learn the basics of ballet, tap, gymnastics, creative movement and motor development skills, while learning their numbers, colors, shapes and songs. School-age children 6 to 8 are involved in a combination of ballet, tap and modern dance classes.

A Brief History of Kinderdance®

In 1979, Carol Kay Harsell was looking for ways to expand her successful dance studio business. After consulting with entrepreneur Bernard Friedman, she expanded the school's offerings by including a program for very young students. The latter, however, was only partially successful. Friedman then suggested to Harsell that she bring the classes to the students rather than vice versa. Within a month she had more than 60 children at a local childcare center signed up. Within six months she had 30 childcare facilities, as well as the local school system involved. In 1981 Kinderdance® was incorporated as a franchisor. Today there are more than 100 successful franchises in operation in the U.S., Canada and elsewhere.

There are three choices with Kinderdance®.

BRONZE *

Designed for the person who wants to teach all the classes by themselves on a part-time basis, each Bronze Level franchisee is authorized to teach in up to six locations* within their area.

SILVER *

Designed for people who want to teach the Kinderdance® programs themselves, or with a teacher on a full or part time basis, each Silver Level franchise is authorized to teach in up to 12 locations* in their area.

GOLD *

Designed for people who want to market and train others, this gives you unlimited locations in an exclusive territory of up to a 400,000 population (determined by city, county, or zip code boundaries). You may or may not choose to teach the program yourself.
