THE
COMPANY AND THE PROGRAM
CompuChild
was founded in 1994. The current owners
and proprietors, Rob and Theresa Shafer,
were franchisees before taking over
the parent company in 2001. CompuChild
is one of the leaders in the field
of providing early computer education
to pre-school children thus giving its
students a head start in meeting future
academic and occupational challenges.
CompuChild
franchisees are provided with hardware
specifically designed to teach classes
in daycare and early educational centers.
As well they have access to a curriculum
and materials created by experts in
early child education including hardware
designed to appeal to young students.
In this way client centers are able
to expand their services to include
computer education and thereby increase
the appeal to their clientele.
"FAQ'S"
(FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)
Where
do I work?
Classes
are taught at the schools and childcare
centers where your students are. Any
non-teaching work can be done at home.
What
hardware do I use?
You
will be using a Windows-based personal
computer equipped with a large flat-screen
monitor and a special keyboard and mouse
designed for young children. Your students
will have the use of a printer, a scanner
and a digital camera. All hardware is
provided to CompuChild franchisees.
Currently, a class will use a single
computer rather than a group of networked
computers for this method seems to work
best with youngsters.
Do
I receive help with lesson planning?
We
have a standard curriculum as well as
logical sequential lesson plans completed
by professionals with graduate degrees
in education. Ongoing assistance is
also available.
Do
I get help with start-up?
CompuChild
will sit down with you and work out
the size and boundaries of your exclusive
territory. During your three-day training
period our expert sales staff will help
you to contact potential clients in
your territory and begin the process
of selling your services. In addition
you will be able to contact other directors
in CompuChild to obtain specific
advice when you feel it is necessary.
How
much does this cost me?
CompuChild's
initial start-up fee is $12,500.00.
For this you will receive exclusive
rights to a territory containing at
least 100 potential clients/locations,
all the hardware and supplies you need
and three days of intensive training.
In areas where they are available you
can elect to acquire a "mini-territory",
with at least 50 locations and the same
equipment and training, for a start-up
fee of $7,500.00. Your monthly royalty
fee will be $150.00 until your gross
revenues reach $40,000 at which time
you will pay an additional 3%.

Let's
put the facts together!
|

|
FACT
#1
Computer
use is growing rapidly. It is highly
possible that computer literacy will
supplant print literacy as a basic need
in everyday life and people with good
computer skills will excel in future
job markets!
FACT
#2
Parents
today are more interested than ever
in the future of their children. We
live in a world where, in fact, some
parents register their children for
prestigious schools at birth. You will
therefore be selling a known opportunity
for future success.
FACT#3
The
CompuChild program does not require
extensive experience or expertise. It
also does not require a prohibitive
investment.
Add
these facts together and the conclusion
is clear. You, as a CompuChild franchisee,
will be promoting a product heavily
in demand that will require very little
expertise, no specialized knowledge
or experience and minimal "out
of pocket" cost on your part. This
is definitely a "win-win"
scenario for all involved including
students, parents, the child care facility
and you, the franchisee.
